Our previous lab SPIL 060 took place on 10 February, 2020. None of us would have expected that a month later, the country was in a total lockdown due to the unexpected outbreak of the pandemic. Since then, we’ve experienced multiple full and partial lockdowns. It is only until about a month ago that most economy as well as the creative sectors are opening up and jump-starting. It has been a challenging time for everyone. But we’ve learnt to survive and would become stronger!

So, here we are! SPIL 061 is our first SPIL lab since the lockdown back in March 2020. Our essential ‘house band’ with Yong Yandsen (tenor sax) and Kok Siew Wai (voice), together with our frequent collaborators and good friends Ping Wei (sax) and Yii Kah Hoe (di zi/xiao) would like to celebrate the first restoration of the SPIL series since the pandemic on Saturday, 23 October, 2021 at The Percussion Store!
